Trilingual Collections Specialist (Portuguese)

About the role

Zimmer Biomet is looking for a trilingual collections specialist who speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese. The role is responsible for collecting past-due invoices and monitoring assigned customer accounts so that past-due levels and credit risk stay low in a GBS environment. It works closely with Customer Service and the Sales Organization, and involves daily contact with customers by phone or e-mail.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor assigned customer accounts and follow up on past-due accounts daily by phone or e-mail.
• Collaborate with the offshore BPO team on collections and cash applications.
• Research and resolve queries, disputes, complaints and short payments in a timely way.
• Respond promptly to all e-mails and inquiries from internal and external customers.
• Maintain well-documented customer files and track collection efforts in the collection tool.
• Analyze accounts daily before releasing orders on hold and monitor credit limits and terms, suggesting adjustments when appropriate.
• Identify and escalate credit risks and uncollectable accounts to management, and escalate unresolved issues.
• Meet metrics such as number of calls, amounts collected and bad debt, and provide cross-team and backup support.
• Ensure adherence to Finance and Compliance policies and support management with projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Complete administrative tasks and ad-hoc reports as assigned.

Required profile

• Professional degree in any finance area.
• 2 years of relevant work experience, or a combination of experience and advanced education; preferred experience in accounts receivable.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking of English, Spanish and Portuguese.
• Ability to travel less than 20%.
