Business Development Advisor – Impact Investing

About the role

This volunteer placement supports Fundacion SVX Colombia in strengthening its business development strategy and institutional positioning within Colombia’s impact investing ecosystem. The advisor will help mobilise capital for social and environmental impact while working closely with strategic partners.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑level ecosystem analysis to identify strategic gaps, trends, and key segments in Colombia’s impact investing market.
• Map and prioritize potential institutional partners and identify opportunities for new programs or blended‑finance initiatives.
• Support preparation of concept notes, partnership briefs, and funding proposals; assist in strategic meetings with potential funders.
• Produce market intelligence briefs, benchmark international models, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Design high‑level convenings to unlock capital flows aligned with Embassy of Canada cooperation priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, International Relations or related field.
• Over 7 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, market analysis or consulting.
• Proven experience working with institutional stakeholders such as donors, foundations, DFIs, corporate partners or public agencies.
• Strong preference for experience in impact investing, blended finance or structuring funding proposals.

Required skills

• Advanced Spanish (Level 4) and English proficiency.
