Case Manager - Personal Injury (Remote)
HireHawk
Job description
About the role
HireHawk connects professionals with remote opportunities at U.S. and Canadian companies. As a Case Manager - Personal Injury (Pre-Litigation), you will take ownership of an assigned caseload from intake through settlement or transfer to litigation, acting as the main link between injured clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, demand writers and supervising attorneys. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Time, with pay of USD 1,400 to 1,600 per month.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of personal injury cases from intake through demand, settlement or transfer to litigation.
- Keep clients informed about case status, medical treatment, next steps and outstanding requirements.
- Coordinate medical treatment, referrals, appointments and follow-ups.
- Request, obtain, review and organize medical records, billing statements and other case documents.
- Communicate with insurance adjusters on claim status, liability, coverage, documentation and settlement progress.
- Monitor treatment timelines, milestones, deadlines and missing records to prevent delays.
- Escalate case issues, stalled treatment or liability concerns to supervising attorneys when appropriate.
- Partner with demand writers to keep files complete and organized, and track settlement items such as outstanding balances, liens and case closure requirements.
- Maintain accurate, well-organized case records in the firm's case management system.
Required profile
- 2-3+ years of experience supporting U.S. plaintiff-side personal injury cases, with hands-on case management experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage pre-litigation matters from intake through demand preparation and settlement.
- Experience communicating with injured clients, medical providers and insurance adjusters.
- Strong written and verbal English, and strong organizational skills for multiple active cases and deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant hands-on legal experience may substitute for additional formal education.
- Nice to have: experience with a California-based personal injury firm, a degree in Legal Studies or Paralegal Studies, and experience preparing files for demand writers.
Required skills
- Filevine, CASEpeer, SmartAdvocate or a comparable legal case management platform.
- Independent work with consistent follow-through.
