Collections Associate

About the role

UPS is hiring a Collections Associate in Medellin, Colombia. The position handles collection tasks according to established procedures for different types of customers, helping improve cash flow, reduce delinquencies and days sales outstanding and limit bad debt exposure. It also manages customer import billing requests and responses, with frequent contact with customers, external agencies and internal departments about payment issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and respond to customer inquiries within the required service level agreement.
• Identify, prioritize and resolve complex issues delaying payment.
• Develop, create and analyze collection and accounts receivable reports.
• Update customer and stakeholder information using various software programs.
• Monitor and maintain assigned customer accounts.
• Submit recommendations to write off account balances.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Business or a related field (preferred).
• Prior collections experience (preferred).
• Conversational French (mandatory).
• English at B2 to C1 level (mandatory).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Basic negotiation skills.
• Experience handling objections and gaining commitment (preferred).
