Data Governance Specialist

About the role

The Data Governance Specialist ensures the quality, security, and proper management of critical business data across SGS. Working closely with business and IT teams, the role defines policies, supports compliance, and drives data protection initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement data governance policies and standards.
• Identify critical data sources and set retention requirements.
• Maintain data quality, integrity, and security across all systems.
• Support backup, archiving, and data storage strategies, including Azure File Share and Blob Storage.
• Collaborate with IT on network segmentation and firewall‑based data protection.
• Maintain documentation, data inventory records, and SOPs related to data management.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance or data management.
• Experience managing critical business data and backup systems in enterprise environments.
• Advanced English proficiency; additional languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Microsoft Azure (File Share, Blob Storage).
• Veeam Backup & Replication and/or GoodSync.
• Understanding of network segmentation and firewall concepts.
• ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
