Junior Mechanical Designer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Designer to join our engineering team in Bogotá. You will work on plant and process diagrams for the food and beverage sector, ensuring hygienic design standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Design, edit and manage plant layouts and P&IDs for food industry projects.
• Create and verify construction diagrams, generate bills of materials and isometric drawings using 3D CAD tools.
• Validate manufacturing processes in the workshop for stainless steel and carbon steel equipment.
• Support the Mechanical Designer and Team Leader in project development and documentation.
• Travel up to 30% of the time, including international trips.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in 3D design for industrial projects, especially steam, condensate, and piping networks.
• Ability to work with design services contractors and follow hygienic design standards.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D and AutoCAD Inventor.
• Strong 3D modeling skills for mechanical assemblies and equipment.
• Experience with bill of materials generation and isometric drawing creation.
• Familiarity with vessel simulation using Compress software (valuable).
