Electrical Engineer

About the role

GEA, a global supplier of systems for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead electrical engineering activities across project phases, from planning to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage electrical engineering tasks during planning, design, execution, commissioning and project close‑out.
• Generate pre‑engineering studies, equipment lists, hardware dimensioning and electrical load calculations.
• Design single‑line and multi‑line diagrams, control schematics and select low‑voltage equipment such as transformers, UPS and VFDs.
• Set up industrial protocol networks, I/O periphery, and process analytic instruments; commission VFDs and electrical cabinets.
• Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, project management, automation, supply chain) and external stakeholders (customers, sub‑suppliers, providers).

Required profile

• Technical background in electrical engineering with experience in low‑voltage systems and automation.
• Ability to travel extensively (up to 80% of the time) and work on‑site at customer locations.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Pre‑engineering and scheduling of electrical activities.
• Knowledge of RETIE‑certified equipment and low‑voltage components (transformers, UPS, VFDs, protections).
• Proficiency with electrical design software (AutoCAD, EPLAN).
• Experience with industrial communication protocols, I/O configuration, and process instrumentation.
• Ability to produce electrical load calculations, single‑line diagrams and hardware dimensioning.
• Familiarity with FAT procedures, assembly supervision, and commissioning tests (IO test, dry test).
