Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

EPAM is building a cloud platform and needs a Lead DevOps Engineer to drive scalable AWS infrastructure and reliable delivery practices. You will own Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and container orchestration while also contributing to frontend and backend development.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and operate AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS and API Gateway.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS CDK.
• Create and evolve CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Administer Docker‑based workloads and Kubernetes/EKS clusters.
• Contribute to frontend delivery using React and TypeScript.
• Build backend services with Node.js, Java or .NET.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure reliable, scalable deployments.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven expertise with core AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS, API Gateway).
• Hands‑on experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
• Strong background designing CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Deep knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
• Practical experience with React and TypeScript, plus at least one backend language (Node.js, Java.NET).
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
