Senior Software Engineer, Backend

About the role

GlossGenius is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of backend services that power its suite of business management tools. You will work remotely from the Bogota or Medellin area, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable APIs and data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end projects, from architectural design through production deployment.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define roadmap initiatives and break down epics into actionable tasks.
• Write high‑quality, testable code that handles edge cases, errors, and performance considerations.
• Architect services using proven design patterns to support autonomous development and future scaling.
• Uphold engineering best practices, ensure reliability, operability, and security, and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of leading and delivering complex backend projects.
• Strong ability to decompose work, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience working collaboratively across product, design, and operations teams.
