Software Engineer Associate

About the role

Join ScotiaTech’s fast‑paced backend development team in Bogota, building and maintaining server‑side applications, databases and business logic for Scotiabank. You will collaborate with architects, developers and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions that meet regulatory and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test and implement complex business requirements.
• Produce detailed technical designs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Develop and deliver applications using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Build, consume and maintain RESTful services and micro‑services.
• Ensure code quality through unit testing and continuous integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or equivalent.
• 1‑3 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java (version 17+), Node.js, Nest and JavaScript.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL and DB2.
• Understanding of Scrum/Agile practices and modern IT development standards.
