Strategic Communications & Social Media Volunteer

About the role

The International Organization of Volunteers (OIV) is looking for a volunteer to support strategic communications and digital content creation for NGGL, an emerging international organization based in Geneva. The role develops skills in strategic communications, digital storytelling and creative content production within global governance and international cooperation, and contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 16. It is civil and voluntary, under Colombian law, with no employment relationship or pay.

Key responsibilities

• Help shape NGGL's key messages and editorial approach across its social media channels, working with the Director
• Create content for LinkedIn, Instagram and other channels, including posts, carousels, infographics and short audiovisual pieces
• Support photo and video editing, including event coverage
• Propose and support the content calendar
• Grow the community, track basic metrics and share publications, calls and activities
• Apply NGGL's visual identity and tone consistently

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in communications, journalism, marketing, design, international relations, political science, social sciences or a related field
• Good professional-level English
• Interest in international affairs and global governance
• Creative, curious and motivated, with a strong eye for aesthetics and visual identity

Required skills

• Experience creating social media content or a portfolio of creative work is an asset
• Familiarity with Canva, CapCut or similar tools is an asset

What we offer

• 6-month term, renewable by mutual agreement, 10 to 15 hours per week, fully remote and flexible
