Fullstack Software Engineer – Integration Focus

About the role

Clara is looking for a Forward‑deployed Engineer to bridge product engineering and go‑to‑market teams. You will be embedded with partners and customers to deliver fast, high‑quality integrations for our B2B payments platform.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full integration lifecycle from qualification, scoping, building, to handoff.
• Run Phase 0 assessments, map systems and data flows, and define risk and build approaches.
• Build and configure connectors, data mappings, and partner adapters using Clara’s integration framework.
• Coordinate with partner technical teams and internal Platform/API squads, ensuring standards for idempotency, observability, and security.
• Deliver runbooks, dashboards, and support playbooks for clean handoffs.

Required profile

• 4+ years of backend development with hands‑on API integration experience.
• Proven experience working directly with external partners or customers in a technical capacity.
• Strong communication skills in English and Spanish or Portuguese.
• Ability to move quickly in ambiguous environments and scope new integration requests within days.

Required skills

• Java (or another backend language) and strong API integration knowledge.
• REST, event‑driven architectures, OAuth/token management, idempotency.
• Observability fundamentals: logs, metrics, tracing, alerting, SLOs.
• Experience with integration platforms such as N8N, Zapier, or custom equivalents.
• Familiarity with AWS, Kafka, or event‑streaming platforms is a plus.
