Intermediate IT Specialist (Remote Contractor)

About the role

Dev.Pro, a US-based outsourced software development company, is hiring remote contractors to join its global team of IT professionals. This Intermediate IT Specialist supports a US-based executive's technical environment and ongoing projects, troubleshooting Windows, AWS, networking and other tools, taking ownership of technical tasks and guiding Junior IT Specialists. The role starts with a voice prescreen pilot: a real-time Python service running on a GPU server in AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Build, run, maintain and troubleshoot services for the executive's ongoing projects
• Administer AWS resources (EC2, S3, IAM, Systems Manager, billing alerts) and Google Workspace, 1Password and other SaaS platforms
• Configure and troubleshoot network and remote-access tools (VPNs, proxies, RDP, DNS and email records)
• Administer endpoint solutions such as ManageEngine and SentinelOne
• Read and debug Python scripts, using Git to manage code changes
• Work independently from investigation through resolution, using AI assistants to investigate issues and draft responses, then verify their output
• Guide Junior IT Specialists and communicate with the executive and Security team, explaining trade-offs and obtaining approval before sensitive changes
• Maintain accurate task records and follow security procedures, including least-privilege access and backing up before changes

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in IT, systems administration, software development, DevOps or a related technical role
• Upper-intermediate English, able to give clear updates on work and issues
• Strong security practices, sound judgment on sensitive changes, and ability to follow written procedures and document work
• Desirable: macOS support, executive support, backup tools (MSP360, CloudBerry), Google APIs and OAuth, Playwright, GPU cloud instances, HubSpot or Jira Service Management, AWS or Google Workspace certification

Required skills

• Windows administration with PowerShell (services, scheduled tasks, registry, firewall, Windows Update, Defender)
• Python for writing, debugging and maintaining code
• Linux and AWS (EC2, IAM, S3, Systems Manager, quotas, billing alerts)
• DNS and email records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), Google Workspace, 1Password, MDM and EDR tools
