Intermediate Test Engineer (Hybrid Manual & Automation) - POS

About the role

Dev.Pro, a US-based outsourced software development company, is hiring contractors for a new project in the Point-of-Sale domain. The role is a hybrid QA position combining manual testing with Java-based test automation, focusing on the quality of backend and API-based systems. It suits someone with strong manual testing experience and hands-on Java automation skills.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute manual test cases for backend and API functionality
• Perform API testing for backend services and integrations
• Develop and maintain automated tests using Java-based test automation frameworks
• Investigate defects and perform root cause analysis with developers
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and support sprint delivery
• Clarify requirements with developers and ensure test coverage
• Maintain clear and up-to-date test documentation

Required profile

• 3+ years of manual testing experience with strong backend and API testing skills
• Experience designing, executing and maintaining test cases and test plans
• Understanding of test design techniques and requirements analysis
• Agile experience in hybrid manual/automation environments
• Good communication skills and upper-intermediate English
• Desirable: Playwright (Java) or Selenium, Cucumber for legacy API tests, AWS exposure, software development background, and POS domain experience

Required skills

• Java-based test automation (Java, Rest Assured, JUnit, Maven) in Spring-based applications
• Defect investigation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Git for version control
