Lead Data Engineer – Marketing Analytics

About the role

Blend is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to design and maintain scalable data solutions that power marketing analytics and audience activation. The role focuses on Databricks, governed data structures, reusable components, and reliable pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable pipelines in Databricks using Unity Catalog and Delta.
• Maintain Git/GitHub repositories, create modular data components, and implement CI/CD workflows.
• Model marketing performance data, build point‑in‑time audience histories, and connect marketing sends to downstream sales outcomes.
• Ingest data from SQL Server warehouses, translate legacy SQL audience logic into governed definitions, and deliver audiences to Adobe Campaign or Segment.
• Profile new data sources, produce data dictionaries and ERDs, and create data quality tests.

Required profile

• 5+ years of data engineering experience.
• Hands‑on expertise with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta, and Azure environments.
• Strong Python and SQL skills, able to translate complex SQL logic.
• Experience with Git‑based development, CI/CD, and data governance.
• Proficiency in handling consent, suppression, marketability flags, and PII.
