Manager, Commercial Strategy & Portfolio Optimization (SME LAC)

About the role

The Manager, Commercial Strategy & Portfolio Optimization (SME LAC) will drive data‑led growth opportunities across Mastercard’s SME portfolios in Latin America and the Caribbean. Acting as a bridge between data, strategy, product and commercial teams, the role translates spend insights into actionable client conversations that boost Gross Dollar Volume (GDV) and strengthen engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze SME spend, portfolio performance and behavioral data to uncover growth opportunities and strategic recommendations.
• Translate data insights into clear, compelling client narratives covering spend activation, working‑capital optimization, and cross‑border/FX opportunities.
• Support frontline sales and account teams with structured talking points, opportunity framing and value articulation for high‑impact client meetings and business reviews.
• Identify and quantify pipeline opportunities (activation, usage growth, cross‑sell/upsell, retention) aligned with regional growth targets.
• Diagnose under‑performance across markets, define targeted actions to close activation gaps, reduce dormancy and increase penetration.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial strategy, data‑driven insight generation and client engagement, preferably within payments or financial services.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across diverse LAC markets.
• Excellent analytical capabilities and comfort working with large data sets to drive business outcomes.
