Senior Clinical System Designer

About the role

ICON is a global healthcare intelligence and clinical research organisation seeking a Senior Clinical System Designer to design and implement advanced clinical systems that enhance trial design and execution. The role is remote, supporting projects in Colombia and Mexico.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and development of clinical systems aligned with study protocols and operational needs.
• Consolidate high‑level system requirements, manage reviews, and copy/modify CRFs from standard libraries.
• Develop custom CRF screens, edit check and dynamic check specifications using prototyping methodologies.
• Perform quality‑control peer reviews of database specifications and lead eCRF specification review meetings.
• Utilize and modify library edit checks, program complex dynamic and discrepancy checks, and manage post‑production database changes.
• Support timeline negotiations, assess impacts of post‑production changes, and travel up to 10% domestically or internationally.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience designing and implementing clinical systems in the clinical research industry.
• Expertise in data analysis, interpretation, and database development with proficiency in clinical data management systems.
• Fluent in English and the host country language.

Required skills

• Knowledge of at least one Clinical Data Management System (e.g., Medidata Rave, Veeva EDC).
• Functional knowledge of CRF design tools and ability to design CDMS components from medium‑complexity protocols.
• Experience creating edit checks, dynamic checks, and discrepancy checks.
