Senior Cloud DBA Engineer – PostgreSQL & AWS RDS

About the role

Sutherland seeks a Senior Cloud DBA Engineer to deploy, operate and maintain customer‑hosted databases on AWS. The role involves troubleshooting, performance tuning and 24x7 support for global SaaS infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer AWS console, create and manage RDS instances, perform health checks using CloudWatch and Performance Insight.
• Deploy new databases, configure backups, maintenance jobs, and handle export/import or backup/restore tasks.
• Monitor alerts, fine‑tune thresholds, and investigate performance, locking or corruption issues.
• Execute T‑SQL, PowerShell and Python scripts for routine administration and automation.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, providing 24x7 production support.

Required profile

• 6‑10 years of DBA experience, with at least 6 years focused on PostgreSQL.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Experience working in a global, multicultural team and familiarity with ITIL processes.
