Senior Sewer Systems Engineer

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Senior Sewer Modelling Engineer to join its Enterprise Capabilities Design Center in Bogotá D.C. The role focuses on developing, calibrating and applying hydraulic models for large municipal sewer networks serving populations over 500,000. You will work closely with Canadian project teams to support planning and operational decisions for major utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update hydraulic models of sanitary, storm‑water and combined sewer systems using InfoWorks ICM.
• Calibrate models with flow‑monitoring, rainfall, SCADA and asset data, emphasizing wet‑weather flow and RDII analysis.
• Perform capacity assessments, identify bottlenecks, surcharge conditions and overflow risks.
• Support master‑planning studies, capital improvement programs and climate‑resilience scenarios.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and modelling documentation in English and Spanish.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in municipal sewer system modelling and hydraulic analysis.
• Proven ability to calibrate large‑scale sewer models using monitored flow and rainfall data.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
